The Masaba star

The Masaba Star recognizes exceptional service and distinguished leadership in military operations and administration. Recipients of this medal have exhibited exceptional skills in managing and leading troops, playing a crucial role in maintaining peace and security.

The Masaba Star Medal is the fourth highest military decoration.  The Masaba medal is named after Mt Elgon whose local name is Masaba. Its one of the Key physical features of Uganda.

This medal serves as a symbol of the UPDF’s deep appreciation for the dedication and sacrifice exhibited by its members in the line of duty. The medals inspire the entire force and exemplify the core values of bravery, loyalty, and commitment to the nation’s defense.
