Minister Oboth Meets Belgian Ambassador, Pledge To Strengthen Bilateral Ties
The Minister of Defence and Veterans Affairs, Hon Jacob Marksons Oboth, hosted a significant meeting with the Belgian Ambassador to Uganda, His Excellency Hugues Chantry, at the Ministry of Defence and Veterans Affairs (MODVA) headquarters.
The primary objective of this gathering was to fortify the existing bilateral relations between Uganda and Belgium.
Ambassador Chantry expressed his admiration for President Museveni’s stewardship in stabilising Uganda and championing the Pan-African cause within the region.
He praised the Uganda Peoples’ Defence Forces (UPDF) for its invaluable contributions in restoring peace and stability in Somalia and the Democratic Republic of Congo. “Thanks for the good job you’re doing in the region to restore peace and stability,” H.E Hugues Chantry asserted.
Hon. Oboth reciprocated Belgium’s commitment to Uganda’s development agenda and pledged to continue collaborating with Belgium in diverse fields beyond security.
This cordial exchange underscored the shared determination of both nations to bolster their strategic partnership.
