Gen Kisembo’s 39-Year Army Tenure: A Testament To Hard Work And Faith
In a heartwarming ceremony at St Paul’s Church of Uganda, Kyabenda Parish, Kamwenge District, Brig Gen Charles Kisembo was hailed as a shining example of dedication and service.
The occasion, held today, was a thanksgiving and fundraising service organised by Brig Gen Kisembo the head of Kyankwanzi Leadership Institute.
Hon Frank Tumwebaze, Minister of Agriculture, Animal Industry, and Fisheries, representing the Vice President, praised Gen Kisembo for prioritising his faith throughout his illustrious 39-year career in the army.
Hon Tumwebaze acknowledged Gen Kisembo’s tireless dedication to the nation, notably in bringing peace through ideological change, which has inspired Uganda and beyond.
Brig Gen Felix Kulayigye, Director of Defence Public Information, commended Gen Kisembo for his exemplary leadership, hard work, and commitment to his faith.
Gen Kulayigye noted that Gen Kisembo’s achievements in national security, professionalising the NRA/UPDF, and developing the National Leadership Institute into a centre of excellence are unmatched.
Gen Kisembo, in his speech, expressed gratitude to the Commander-in-Chief and the UPDF fraternity for the trust placed in him throughout his career. He attributed his success to his faith, persistence, hard work, and positive attitude.
Addressing the young generation, he emphasised the importance of perseverance and gratitude in achieving their goals.
Bishop George Turyasingura of Rwenzori East Diocese thanked God for Gen Kisembo’s life and service, acknowledging his commitment to his faith and family.
Over 200 million Uganda shillings was raised during the service for construction of the church.
In attendance were UPDF officers, local leaders, and church leaders.
