Commander Operation Tokora Hails Wazalendo SACCO For Giving Back To Its Members
The Overall Commander of Operation Tokora, Colonel Fred Mwesigye has today hailed Wazalendo SACCO for giving back to its members.
Col Mwesigye was today receiving 250 chairs and 10 tables that were donated by Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society (WSACCO) under its Corporate Social Responsibility function at the WSACCO headquarters in. “We are grateful that besides giving loans, Wazalendo SACCO is also able to give back to us. I now feel that I am part of WSACCO. This gesture by Wazalendo SACCO has challenged me and has strengthened our working relationship. I pledge to continue supporting WSACCO in terms of mobilizing members under my charge to save more and embrace this WSACCO welfare vehicle,” said Col Mwesigye.
The CEO WSACCO, Col Joseph Freddy Onata who handed over items on behalf of the Board of Directors said that it was another great day for WSACCO hosting Tokoora leadership not to get Loans but to receive from their SACCO which they have supported and made viable and sustainable. “Giving back to you is in appreciation of your support through saving our money with us, taking loans from us and most importantly paying back. We also thank you for the security that you provide to the entire country. There is no business that can operate in an insecure environment,” said the CEO.
Onata noted that the loans that members take generate profit and part of it has been budgeted for community engagements under Corporate Social Responsibility. “We look forward to continue giving our members better services.” added the CEO
Tokora is Brigade charged with providing security in Kampala Metropolitan Area. It comprises 11 battalions that include among others; Lubaga, Mukono, Entebbe, Kawempe, Makindye, Kampala and Buikwe.
Present at the handover of the items were; the Political Commissariat Operation Tokoora, Maj Eric Musinguzi, the Admin Officer Maj A Jabu Muhebwa, Capt Winston Mumwijeho and Brigade Sergeant Major, W01 Mwidhu Abdu and WSACCO top management.
