Wazalendo Opens Branch In Singo, UPDF Leadership Urged To Channel Salaries Through Sacco
Wazalendo Savings and Credit Cooperative Society has launched its 9th cash operating branch in Singo, Nakaseke district.
While officiating the commissioning of the branch, the 1 Division Commander Brigadier General Joseph Ssemwanga who represented the Commander Land Force Lt Gen Muhanga encouraged the UPDF leadership to set an example by channeling their salaries through Wazalendo SACCO so as those below them can follow suit.
Brig Gen Ssemwanga said the opening of the cash operation branch in Singo will enable members to access services conveniently and improve their welfare through accessing the different products offered by the Sacco.
Colonel Joseph Freddy Onata the CEO said that the opening of more cash branches and better service delivery innovations like Waza mobile is to Wazalendo has the capacity to process salaries for its members and guard them against inconveniences in other places like delayed payments, cues, long distance to access the services and other incurred expenses. “The areas that have made us be successful as a sacco are; overcoming comfort zone, overcoming fear, learning new things and growing. For us we learn every day and perfect our performance hence growing and able to celebrate such achievements. We have commitment to grow and, give quality services,” said Col Onata.
According to the director of operations Mr. William Atalyeba WSACCO since opening the cash operating branches in different parts of the country, there has been a visible difference in service delivery and income generated to the Sacco. He added that they will be exploring other innovations like agency banking in the concentrated areas of the members to allow them access all banks to send or receive cash within and outside Uganda including our members in mission countries.
